Grupul Expyde a fost fondat de către Adrian Simionaș, Lucian Țetcu și Raul Chiorean, în anul 1993 la Cluj-Napoca, România, sub numele de Expyde Machine, an în care au înregistrat prima piesă, 'Wish And Love'.

Grupul a prins contur în anul 1994, prin alăturarea vocalistului Cosmin Oarga, moment în care numele a fost schimbat în Expyde. Acest an reprezintă și debutul mediatic al grupului Expyde, odată cu difuzarea primelor 2 piese ('The End Surrender', 'Six Avenue') la Radio Cluj.

Grupul evoluează din punct de vedere stilistic, compune noi piese și începe să se promoveze, participând la spectacole și emisiuni radio/tv. Din această perioadă datează compoziții ca 'Violence', 'Confession', 'Playing On The Keyboards'.

Plecarea din formație a lui Lucian în martie 1995 generează o perioadă de inactivitate de câteva luni, încheiată cu cooptarea lui Florin Pascaru, grupul consolidându-și astfel componența:

• Cosmin Oarga - vocal
• Adrian Simionaș - chitară, claviaturi
• Raul Chiorean - claviaturi
• Florin Pascaru - claviaturi, vocal

În anul 1996 Expyde înregistrează primul album, 'Psychological Progress', care conține 11 piese și se bucură de un succes deosebit, Surprinzând piața muzicală și oferind o alternativă modernă la genurile existente în acel moment. Piese ca 'I Feel Alone' sau 'Wild Thing' au fost difuzate de multe ori ca power play la stațiile de radio.

1998 îi găsește pe Raul și pe Florin într-un proiect comun, încercând o abordare comercială, sub forma unor piese încadrate mai degrabă în genul 'pamflet'.
Un alt proiect paralel a lui Florin, Adrian si Raul, naște piesa 'Uneori' în anul 2002, atingând un total alt gen muzical, dar continuând aceeași linie plină de sensibilitate a grupului Expyde.

După o lungă perioadă de inactivitate, în anul 2008 grupul se reunește într-o formulă restrânsă, mai exact Florin Pascaru și Raul Chiorean dar cu un suflu nou și reîncepe lucrul, înregistrând prima piesă, 'Privacy's Concept'. Adrian Simionaș reîncepe apoi colaborarea cu Expyde, de această dată o colaborare „la distanță” dar cu rezultate foarte bune. În prezent formația lucrează la o serie de piese noi, unele fiind melodii consacrate din istoria Expyde iar altele fiind compoziții noi. Genul abordat s-ar putea cel mai bine caracteriza ca fiind synthpop.

cea mai tare trupa. v-am descoperit din intamplare navingand pe internet. ar trebui sa faceti ceva ca lumea sa va poata gasi mai usor. mult succes cu noul album. sper sa-l puneti si pe site sa-l pot asculta si eu.

I Feel Alone e cea mai frumoasa piesa pe care am auzit-o vreodata.

Am lansat noul site expyde.ro. Mai multe piese, galerie de poze și o carte de oaspeți în care vă puteți scrie impresiile.

După reunirea grupului, Expyde prezintă prima versiune a piesei Privacy`s Concept. Aceasta face parte dintr-o serie de 10 piese ce vor fi incluse în noul album Expyde. Privacy`s Concept poate fi ascultată on-line aici.

Salutare ma bucur foarte mult ca am dat din nou de voi. prima data v-am vazut in cluj prin 1996 tot atunci cumparandu-mi si albumul \\\"PP\\\". Pentru mine a fost ceva extraordinar sa ascult o formatie romaneasca care sa abordeze acest gen. Oricum toti prietenii mei (fani depeche) au simtit la fel si am devenit si fani expyde. Din pacate am pierdut caseta si de cativa ani sunt disperat ca nu mai dau de ea si nu mai pot sa va ascult. Pana in seara asta cand vin acasa deschid mess-ul si ce sa vezi, mesaj www.expyde.ro....auleo sa cad de pe scaun, o bucurie de nedescris, cu mana tremurnada de nerabdare dau copy/paste si ..da e vb de expyde pe care ii stiam eu. o zi cum nu se poate mai frumoasa am avut azi. continui sa cred ca sunteti cea mai tare formatie romaneasca. asa ca la munca si pe ei. succes maxim.
